Good News for AIDS Patients

The AIDS Vaccine Conference held in Bangkok ended on a positive note as the scientists gathered there said they have found a new clue for freeing a person's immunity system from HIV strains. Three years back, a treatment was invented for treating AIDS.

During a Thai trial, the treatment helped about 30% patients to prevent the strains of the HIV virus causing AIDS. For the trial, about 16,000 Thai volunteers were recruited. The trial has helped the scientists in understanding as to how the drug makes the immunity strong against HIV virus.

The findings of the trial will help the scientists in preparing for an effective treatment for AIDS. It has been informed that the vaccination thus formed will be tested on fewer people. Therefore, it can be hoped that soon the world will be free from the heinous strains of HIV virus, which reduces the life expectancy of its victim.

The researchers are hopeful that the trial for the new vaccine will begin at the end of this year. It has been planned that the vaccine will be tested in the South Africa. However, the scientists have noted that the new vaccine will be prescribed to the patients only if it proves effective as compared to current treatment.
